Reasons Why You Are Your Own Problem in A Relationship

Reasons Why You Are Your Own Problem in A Relationship

There are several reasons why you are your own problem in a relationship, check out these 15 reasons:

  1. You are selfish and self-centered. Nothing hurts more than when what you expect for yourself didn’t happen. You want to be treated fine, you want to be cared for, you want this or that, just you, you and you alone, but hardly care about what the other wants or needs. Is he or she not a human like you? Change for good!!!
  2. You want your relationship to work your way alone and so, you get angry when he or she says ‘no’, let’s try it this way. You don’t know it all my dear and so, try to listen to the other.
  3. During communication, you dominate and hardly listen to the other as if they have nothing to say; learn to listen often because even a child has something to say. Even in silent a lot is spoken.
  4. You are too possessive.
Listen: you can’t possess a human being or have him or her all for yourself. You can only do that to a robot, and humans aren’t robot.
  5. You are always dissatisfied, always finding faults and complaining rather than appreciating him or her more.
My dear, no one loves a sadistic or peppery individual. You have an emotional problem and so, work on yourself first before looking for someone to be in a relationship with.
  6. You didn’t forgive and forget your past and so, you carry a wounded heart into a new relationship. You keep punishing him or her as if he or she was the cause of your problem. My dear, call yourself to order and deal with your problems.
  7. You talk too much and easily share sensitive relationship information or secrets with friends which they will later use against you. Learn how to be reserved. In the midst of friends, listen more and say less. Maturity entails secrecy and remember that no two relationships work the same way. Yours may be different from theirs.
  8. You easily get angry. There is a thin line between anger and pride. If you get angry often, check yourself: you have inner sensitive pride you use anger to cover up.
  9. You wear lies like clothe. My dear, one lie can ruin your entire honesty in a relationship. Lie is a sign of disrespect and so, avoid it as much as possible.
  10. You have already concluded there is no love. I ask: how can you be in a relationship with someone with no picture of love, care and tenderness? When you hate love, you can easily hate him or her, mark me.
  11. You lack discipline and good dress sense. You dress so provocatively such that you become someone for all. You don’t even respect someone you claim to love. You are deceiving yourself and you will get hurt soon if you don’t stop.
  12. You are never satisfied with one partner. My dear, don’t lure someone into a relationship when you aren’t disciplined enough to be satisfied with one person. I am not saying sex before marriage is ALLOWED. Say NO to premarital sex.
  13. You are lazy and clingy. You make excess monetary demands you yourself can’t even afford on a normal day without depending on a guy or girl. Get a work, make your own money and see how it is to make money.
  14. You have a very low mentality of people and relationship. You sound so timid and uncivilized such that someone wonders the planet earth you came from; kindly change your mentality.
  15. You have neglected God totally. You operate like no one created you or that there is no spiritual realm somewhere, that’s why you get easily manipulated or attacked because you are spiritually weak or insensitive.

WORK ON YOURSELF TODAY AND BE A BETTER PERSON.

Topic: Permit Children

Text: Mark 10:13-16 (KJV)

Key Verse: “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God“ (Mark 10:14).

MESSAGE:

A 19-year-old youth who committed murder and was awaiting the pronouncement of his death sentence was asked by the judge, “have you anything to say before I give my final judgment? ” “Yes, your honour, I have something to say. Am I alone responsible for the crime I committed? My father put the first bottle of liquor in my hand. My parents taught me that there is nothing to religion. I never saw a Bible in my home. I never heard my parents pray together before we retired for the day. Yes, they fed me – my physical flesh, but my spirit they stabbed and starved. My parents are responsible as well as I am. Let the law take its full course. May God have mercy on my parents’ souls and mine.”

Wise and conscious parents, like the ones in the text, will bring their children to Jesus. Unfortunately, it was those who should know better that wanted to hinder them from getting to Jesus. When Jesus saw this, He was much displeased and instructed that children should be allowed to come to Him because children and childlike minded people are destined for His kingdom.

Parents keep wondering why children and youths of today are so wayward, especially those of ministers, pastors and Christian workers. It is common to see parents pampering and shielding children from church activities. Even when they come to church, many are distracted by academic works they could have planned better for and damned social media engagements.

Good parenting must of necessity include diligence in preparing the children by introducing them to Jesus. We must repent and redirect our efforts to properly bring our children to Christ.

Thought For The Day: Christ, not social media, should be the first and final recourse for youths.

Topic: The Lord is my Defender

Memorise: “But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”- Psalm 3:3

Read: Psalm 3:1-8 (KJV)

1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 51, Luke 19:1-27

MESSAGE:
The sure defender of the oppressed is his Maker. David’s personal experience of this truth caused him to pen the words of today’s Bible reading. Is the Lord your defender? Your answer may be “yes”, but your actions may say “no”, in the sense that the fellow you run to determines who your defender truly is. Here is David’s testimony in Psalm 3:4:

“I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.”

Is this also your testimony? Who do you cry to when faced with challenges in life – your biological father, mother, friend or worst of all, a witchdoctor? The story was told of a man who went to consult a witchdoctor for help. The witchdoctor promised to help this man and told him to return in seven days for a charm that would subdue his enemies. When he arrived on the seventh day, he met a lot of people in mourning, and he thought that one of the witchdoctor’s in-patients must have died. To his shock however, when he asked to see the witchdoctor, he was told that the one who promised him victory over his enemies had just given up the ghost. This is the reason why Jeremiah 17:5 says:

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”

The Psalmist was able to put his trust in the Lord because he refused to be afraid of men, in spite of their fiery looks and large number. In Psalm 3:6, he wrote:

“I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.”

Anyone who declares such words must have had access to God’s wisdom in Proverbs 29:25, which says:

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”

The Psalmist also did something that I would like you to do today: he cried to the Lord. He did not pretend that all was well, like some people do. In Psalm 3:7, He prayed that God should arise to save him. This prayer worked for David, and it will work for you also if you will not have any other god beside the Almighty Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. After crying to God, David affirmed that salvation belonged to Him and that His blessing was upon His people (Psalm 3:8). I pray that the Lord of host will defend you and your cause as you cry to Him today in Jesus’ Name.

 Action Point:
Devote quality time to cry to the Lord, asking Him to arise and defend you today. As you cry out to Him, He will arise in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 9 November 2018 Friday Hymn 11: O God Our Help In Ages Past
1. O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

2. Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the op’ning day.

6. O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.

Topic: The Blessing – A Sponsor of Speed

Scripture: Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward…Genesis 26:12-13

Thought For The Day: The Blessing terminates delays in life.

The Blessing of God is the Divine empowerment or motorization of human life and destiny unto success and progress. The difference between a blessed person and an unblessed person is like the difference between a canoe and a speed boat. And the major thing that differentiates a canoe from a speedboat is the engine that powers the speedboat to move with speed. By the time a person with a speedboat has crossed a River to the other side and returned, the person with a canoe is still paddling, struggling to cross the river. Both the canoe and speedboat may cross the same River but at incomparably different speed and time duration.

Now, when God connects the engine of His Blessing, or the blessinator to a person’s life and destiny, that person has no option but to move forward. That was what God connected to the life of Abraham and Abraham took off and left his contemporaries behind. It was connected to the life of Isaac and he went forward (Genesis 26:12-13); the Blessing terminates delays in life.
