TOPIC: THE RESURRECTION POWER

Matthew 22:23 “The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,“

The Greek word used here for resurrection means “a standing or rising up.” The resurrection is a major theme of New Testament teaching. Out of the 13 sermons in the book of Acts, 11 stress or simply mention the resurrection.

Man consists of three parts – a spirit, a soul, and a body (1 Th. 5:23). The body is mortal while the spirit and soul are immortal. At death, man’s body goes through the decomposition process and returns to its original elements.

At the resurrection, man’s departed soul and spirit are called forth from either heaven or hell. The material elements of the body are raised up, reassembled, and united with the spirit and soul. Thus we have the complete personality of the individual reconstituted. Everyone will be resurrected – some to life, and some to damnation.

The hope of the believer is the resurrection unto life. The natural, earthly, terrestrial, corrupt, weak, mortal, vile body is said to be raised, changed and fashioned into a spiritual, heavenly, celestial, incorrupt, glorious, powerful, and immortal body. This is the completion of everything that has been purchased for us in Christ.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:12-17 that if there is no resurrection, then our faith is vain and we are yet in our sins. It is the resurrected life of Jesus that brings spiritual life into us and the resurrection of the body that brings physical regeneration, reconstituting us into the very image of God. The transformation from this physical condition to our glorified bodies will be a huge difference, but the power of God can accomplish it easily. If the Lord can work that miracle, then surely, He can heal our bodies and free us from other bondages.

BILLY GRAHAM 19 SEPTEMBER 2018 — CHANGE YOURSELF, CHANGE THE WORLD

TOPIC: CHANGE YOURSELF, CHANGE THE WORLD

Every one of us shall give account of himself to God. — Romans 14:12

I do not quarrel with Karl Marx’s statement that “religion is the opiate of the people.” I never try to defend religion. Religion has spawned wars. Many so-called religious people have been characterized by prejudice, pride, bickering, and even tolerance for slavery. However, I would call you to a simple faith in Jesus, who said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Are you really concerned? Are you disappointed with society? If you are, I challenge you to take the first step. I challenge you to look at yourself.

Prayer for the day: Forgive me, for so often failing to love my neighbor. May my life speak to others of Your love and compassion, Lord Jesus Christ.

Written by Billy Graham, Founder of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association(BGEA). BGEA exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means and to equip the church and others to do the same.

The Thorn in the Flesh

The Thorn in the Flesh

I always asked myself why I received a lot of criticism and attack when our ministry started. What was different about me, that made everybody practically restless and apprehensive?

Was I wrong to be a young man that loves God?
Was I wrong to love my denomination and believe in her future?
Was I wrong to sacrifice my professional career for the ministry?
Was I wrong to love excellence?
Was it wrong for a pastors kid to become a pastor?

Lots of question on my mind…

I came across this scripture, it blew my mind and answered a lot of questions.

2 Corinthians 12:7
And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

The devil senses greatness when he sees one.
Wherever he sees an abundance of revelation, he knows this is exaltation above measure in-the-making. He can’t keep quiet and watch you have a smooth sail to the other side of your exploit.

When he predicts and senses the greatness you carry, he employs the services of thorns and devilish messengers to buffet you.

Suddenly it looks like all hell is let loose.

My dear, it is the heavy duty assignment and destiny that you carry, that the devil is responding to in advance.

Even the devil couldn’t allow Jesus rest, because the devil perceived his assignment. Attacks everywhere, children were killed just to eliminate the assignment. Temptations, rejections, attacks and betrayal were the thorns in His flesh.

The Devil had never attacked any man the way he attacked Jesus. Because the greater the assignment, the greater the attack.

In most families, those children that their lives come with lots of struggles and battles always grow up to have tremendous destinies. Most of them, their thorns even start from when they were in the womb. Some after their birth, struggle to survive. After the survival, they come up with many untold challenges.

You cry, pray and wonder why it looks as though your case is negatively different.

My dear, it is your destiny speaking.
You might have prayed for the attacks to stop. But they can’t stop, because you have abundant revelation.

The more you know, the more the attacks. Because the devil and his siblings knows that abundant revelation always brings exaltation above measures.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9
Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

But this is the good news. The Grace of God is sufficient for you. It means you have the capacity to pull through it. The attacks are not meant to kill you. After-all, people attack what they don’t know or understand. Your abundant revelation is causing the panic.

Wherever there is an abundance of revelation, there must be exaltation above measures. But before the exaltation above measures, comes the panic attacks from the devil. You are bigger than the thorns.

When same people that attacked us begin  say good things about us. I only conclude that the devil only used them as a thorn in our flesh. The thorn on your flesh is nothing but a phase and a process you must go through.

Soon you will be exalted above measures.

Open Heavens 18 September 2018 – Custodians of the Master Key

Topic: Custodians of the Master Key

Memorise: “And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.”- Isaiah 22:22

Read: Matthew 16:13-19 (KJV)

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Bible in One Year: Proverbs 29-31, Mark 9:38-10:12

MESSAGE:
Today’s memory verse is a prophetic message from God the Father to God the Son, speaking of how Jesus would possess the key of the house of David so that he could easily open and shut without any resistance. No wonder doors obeyed Him while He was here on earth. For example, He shut the door of the issue of blood in the life of the woman who had suffered for 12 years (Mark 5:25-34). He also opened the door of sight to a blind man at the gate of Jericho (Luke 18:35-43).

In today’s Bible reading, after Peter made a profound confession of faith received by revelation from the Father, our Lord Jesus Christ promised to give him the master key of the kingdom. The Lord could make this promise because He is the possessor of this key (Revelation 3:7). However, this promise is not only to Peter, but also to everyone who believes and confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord (John 17:20, Mark 13:37). It is amazing therefore to see children of God running helter-skelter in search of the master key, whereas they have access to this key already. Speaking about this key, the Lord said in Matthew 16:19:

“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

The meaning of this scripture is that God the Father gave Jesus Christ the son the master key to open and shut and Jesus in turn handed this key over to those who believed in Him. So, we now are the custodians of the master key. How effectively we use this key is another question altogether. I pray in the mighty Name of Jesus that we will not be wasters of this great grace that can shut the doors of calamity and open the gates of blessings, not only for ourselves but also for those who God has put within the sphere of our influence. Years ago, a young man came to us for prayers because of premature death that had been ravaging his family over the years. We prayed a simple prayer to the Almighty Father, who through His Son handed the master key over to us and opened the door of abundant life in Christ to this young man, and this putted an end to the calamity of premature death in his family. In like manner, I shut the door of all forms of calamity against you and I open the door of celebration that has been shut against you from today in Jesus’ Name.

Action Point:
Using the Master key given to you by the Lord, shut the door of sorrow the enemy had opened against you and open the door of victory and celebration that has been shut against you.

Tuesday Hymn 18: Conqueror and Overcomers Now Are We
1. Conquerors and overcomers now are we,
Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we’ve victory
If the Lord be for us we can never fail,
Nothing ‘gainst His mighty power can e’er prevail.

Chorus
Conquerors are we, thr’o the blood of Jesus
God will give us victory, thro’ the blood of Jesus
Through the Lamb for sinners slain,
Yet who lives and reigns again,
More than conquerors are we,
More than conquerors are we.

2. In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press,
Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;
Not to us but unto Him the praise shall be,
For salvation and for blood bought victory.

3. Unto Him that overcometh shall be given,
Here to eat of hidden manna sent from Heaven,
Over yonder He the victors palm shall bear,
And a robe of white, and golden crown shall wear.

Our Daily Bread 18 September 2018 Devotional – Engraved on His Hands

Our Daily Bread 18 September 2018 Devotional – Engraved on His Hands

Topic: Engraved on His Hands

Read: Isaiah 49:14–18, Bible in a Year: Proverbs 30–31; 2 Corinthians 11:1–15

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands. Isaiah 49:16

In Charles Spurgeon’s many years at his London church during the 1800s, he loved to preach on the riches of Isaiah 49:16, which says that God engraves us on the palms of His hands. He said, “Such a text as this is to be preached hundreds of times!” This thought is so precious that we can run over it in our minds again and again.

Spurgeon makes the wonderful connection between this promise of the Lord to His people, the Israelites, and God’s Son, Jesus, on the cross as He died for us. Spurgeon asked, “What are these wounds in Your hands? . . . The engraver’s tool was the nail, backed by the hammer. He must be fastened to the Cross, that His people might be truly engraved on the palms of His hands.” As the Lord promised to engrave His people on His palms, so Jesus stretched out His arms on the cross, receiving the nails in His hands so we could be free of our sins.

If and when we’re tempted to think that God has forgotten us, we only need to look at our palms and remember God’s promise. He has put indelible marks on His hands for us; He loves us that much.

Prayer: Lord God, how vast is Your love for me! You keep me ever before You. I know You’ll never leave me, and I’m grateful.

The Lord engraves us on the palms of His hands.
