TOPIC: SEEK THE LORD

Text: Zephaniah 2:1-15 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger“ (Zephaniah 2:3).

MESSAGE:

Our God is merciful; yet, He is a God of judgment. He has reserved a day in which he would judge the world for her wickedness. Jesus established the certainty of this end-time judgment: “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven…and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24:30, 31).

Verse 4 to 15 of the text explains the inevitability of God’s judgment upon nations that made themselves enemies of Judah. Similarly, God’s judgment upon all categories of sinners and backsliders all over the world is imminent. “The great day of the Lord is near, it is near; and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly” (Zephaniah 1:14).

The only escape route from the imminent indignation is to “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6, 7). Mercy and pardon await every penitent sinner who comes to the Lord in genuine repentance.

Sinners should repent and turn away from their sins and come to Him with a broken and contrite heart to receive forgiveness and pardon. It is dangerous to face the awful judgment of God!

Thought For The Day: Seek God to avoid His wrath.

Topic: Put Love to Work

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. – 1 Corinthians 13:13

What do you do when you’re facing a particularly stubborn problem? A problem that resists your every effort to solve it?

Put the power of love to work on it! The power of love is the greatest power in the universe. It’s beyond defeat. It never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8).

The Bible says God is love. So when you release love into a situation, you have released God into it. Think about that! When you start releasing love into a situation, Jesus becomes responsible for its success.

What is this love I’m talking about?

First Corinthians 13 tells us it’s patient and kind. It’s not jealous or haughty or conceited or rude. It doesn’t insist on its own way. It’s not touchy or resentful and it pays no attention to a suffered wrong.

Love rejoices when right and truth prevail and it bears up under anything and everything that comes. It’s ever ready to believe the best of every person. Its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances and it endures everything without weakening.

The person who refuses to love is missing out on the very best God has to offer.

Don’t you miss out on any of it. Release love every moment into every situation, every prayer and every thought until it totally consumes your life. It will strengthen you and cast out every fear that has robbed you of God’s greater blessings. It will drive the devil out of your affairs and set you free from every torment of darkness.

Put love to work on the stubborn problems in your life. It’s the one solution they’ll never be able to resist.

Topic: Chose to Serve

Scripture: Matthew 26:51 “And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.”

Message: In Romans chapter one, Paul calls himself a servant of Jesus Christ. Out of the six Greek words for “servant” used in the New Testament, Paul used one of the most slavish terms possible. The word used in this passage is “doulos” and comes from the root word “deo” which means “bind.” Paul literally speaks of himself as a bondman or slave of Jesus Christ – a slave by free choice; yet owned and purchased by Jesus Christ.

The idea of being a love-slave by choice comes from Old Testament passages such as Exodus 21:2-6 and Deuteronomy 15:12-17. If an Israelite bought a Hebrew slave, he must set him free in the seventh year. However, if the slave loved his master and said, “I will not go away from thee,” then a hole was to be bored through the lobe of his ear pronouncing him a bond-slave forever.

Jesus is the supreme example of selflessness – He puts others ahead of Himself.

We see clearly from Jesus’ example, that the way to exaltation in God’s kingdom comes through humility and servanthood to others. Christ’s humiliation, displayed in His coming to earth as a man, is not only a lesson in Christology but also an example to all believers of what greatness in God’s kingdom entails. Let this attitude of heart, taken from the example of Jesus Christ, continue to motivate all true believers in Jesus Christ.

The Creator became the creation; the Lord became the servant; the Highest became the lowest. All of this was done because of God’s great love for us.

Topic: Divine Artistry [Billy Graham Devotional 15 November 2018]
Yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. — 2 Corinthians 12:5

Dr. Edward Judson, in speaking of the life of his father, Adoniram Judson, at the dedication of the Judson Memorial Church in New York City, said, “Suffering and success go together. If you are succeeding without suffering, it is because others before you have suffered; if you are suffering without succeeding, it is that others after you may succeed.”

Happy are they that mourn. They can be happy because they know that their pain, their distress, and their privation are the travail of a new creation, the birth pangs of a better world. They can be happy if they are aware that the Master Artist, God, is employing both light and shadow to produce a masterpiece worthy of divine artistry.

They can also glory in their infirmities, smile through their tears, and sing in the midst of their sorrow, because they realize that in God’s economy, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him.”

Prayer for the day: In suffering I will learn to praise You, loving Savior.

Topic: It is a New Dawn!

Memorise: “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:”– 2 Peter 1:19

Read: Exodus 12:1-11 (KJV)

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,

2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.

10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S passover.

Bible in One Year: Ezekiel 3-4, Luke 21:29-22:13

 MESSAGE:
The children of Israel experienced a new dawn when they left Egypt in circumstances that only God could have made possible. If the Lord could give a new dawn to a nation of slaves, I know that you will also experience a new dawn this season in Jesus’ Name. The Lord told Moses and Aaron that the month of their exodus from Egypt would be the beginning of months to them. In other words, it would become the first month of a new year to them. To someone using this devotional, regardless of the fact that we are in November, this shall be the beginning of months to you because you are entering into your new year this month. You cannot afford to wait till the last day of this year to receive that miracle you desire so much, because the Lord is able and willing to do it now. He has done it before and He will still do it again. We experienced this dimension of the Lord’s move in Nigeria a couple of years ago. The country was severely under the siege of a totalitarian ruler, and the children of God were seriously praying for the country’s deliverance. During one of our monthly Holy Ghost Service meetings, the Lord suddenly spoke to me that I should instruct the congregation to greet each other “Happy New Year”! Amazingly, this was the middle of the year. As usual, I obeyed my Commander-in-Chief; the brethren greeted each other “Happy New Year”, and we closed the meeting. Barely 48 hours afterwards, the siege over the nation was lifted. Announce to yourself or those around you that it is a new dawn, and so shall it be in Jesus’ Name.

After declaring a new dawn for the Israelites, God dealt with the enemies that held them bound, so much so that their king called for Moses and Aaron in the middle of the night, begging them to lead the Israelites out of the land. These were the same people he had held in captivity for years (Exodus 12:31-33). Beloved, Psalm 126:1 says:

“When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.”

When the Lord brings you to a new dawn, even your neighbours may not easily recognise you, because your level would have changed drastically. Can you believe that Pharaoh even asked Moses to pray for him! I decree into your life this day, by the time the Lord accomplishes what He intends to do for you, your enemies will come begging for intercessory prayers in Jesus’ Name. Beloved, I announce to you today, it is a new dawn. All that is required of you is to keep to the precepts of God’s word, and don’t ever let it cross your mind to go back to the Egypt of sin again.

 Prayer Point:
Father, I receive my new dawn of joy, victory, breakthrough and perfect walk with You in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: Breaking Satanic Wall of Resistance

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Zechariah 3:1-4

MEMORY VERSE: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forevermore.” – Hebrews 13:8

The MESSAGE:

To resist means to oppose. It is to prevent something from happening. In physics, we were taught that resistance is inversely proportional to the flow of current in a conductor. That is, the higher the resistance, the lower the amount of current that flows, decreasing the movement of the current as it progresses. Resistance causes a back and forth movement, one-step forward and many steps backward. It also causes stagnancy and when resistance is in place, there would be non-achievement. The devil is an expert in using demonic resistance to retard a Christian’s movement in life. The devil also uses it as a wall against Christians to prevent them from moving forward. Negative spiritual resistance does not allow results of prayers to manifest, and therefore, it means “No To God’s Yes”. It eventually causes failure at the altar of prayers. This leads to discouragement, frustration, emptiness, unprofitable delay, and tarrying at satanic bus stop.

A place of resistance is a place of great opposition and can divert a person to other areas, which are useless to the person’s destiny. In the Fire Scripture, Joshua was resisted despite being the high Priest, because he was clothed in filthy garments. The wall of resistance could not be broken until the garment was removed. There are several methods the devil uses to resist our blessings from getting to us. These include blocking our ways to victorious battles, healing, deliverance, prosperity, marital blessing, academic success, profitable job or contract, child bearing, promotion etc. Have you been struggling to move forward in any area of your life? Are you finding it difficult to succeed in your career and business? If yes, there might be a wall of resistance hindering you.

The wall of resistance against Daniel receiving answers to his prayer was also broken. God is set to break every wall of resistance against you today, but at this point, you need to honestly identify what your own filthy garment is, because the wall of resistance cannot be built without a filthy garment. Do you always see yourself in the dream being blocked? Do you always see yourself marching or walking on faeces and dirty roads? Today, the Lord is calling you to rise up in boldness of the victory that Christ has obtained for you. You must check your life and destroy any hold that satan may have on you. Make peace with God and begin to break down every satanic wall.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
EVERY MAN IS ENTITLED TO AN ENEMY; THE ENEMY REVEALS YOUR WEAKNESS AND PREPARES YOU FOR BREAKTHROUGH.

PROPHETIC WORD:
By the authority in the name of Jesus, your walls of Jericho are scattered.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Filthy garments of my father’s house that has given the devil a legal ground to stop me, catch fire, in Jesus’ name.
2. Every ancestral power resisting me from achieving greatness in life, die, in Jesus’ name.
3. Every stubborn demon assigned to resist me from moving forward, die, in Jesus’ name.

EVENING
4. Powers behind satanic checkpoint, assigned to make sure I am stopped from moving forward, die, in Jesus’ name.
5. Every satanic checkpoint erected on my ladder to the top, scatter by fire, in Jesus’ name.
6. Resistance to the greatest desire of my life, your end has come, break, in Jesus’ name.
7. Sing this song: “My life is marching on, my life is marching on; the gate of hell shall not prevail, my life is marching on”.
