ANDREW WOMMACK DEVOTIONAL 4 OCTOBER 2018 – OUR HOPE IS IN ETERNITY

ANDREW WOMMACK DEVOTIONAL 4 OCTOBER 2018 – OUR HOPE IS IN ETERNITY

TOPIC: OUR HOPE IS IN ETERNITY

Luke 21:18-19 “But there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls.”

Text: Luke 21:15-22

Jesus says the disciples were betrayed by parents, brothers, relatives, friends, and some disciples were even put to death. Yet, the amazing statement of Christ is that not a hair of their head will perish. The context of this statement speaks of some of the disciples dying, so this is not a promise that no physical harm will ever come. This could only refer to the resurrection.

The Greek word for “resurrection” means “a standing or rising up.” The resurrection is a major theme of New Testament teaching. Out of the 13 sermons in the book of Acts, 11 stress or imply the resurrection.

The hope of the believer is the resurrection. The natural, earthly, terrestrial, corrupt, weak, mortal, vile body is said to be raised, changed and fashioned into a spiritual, heavenly, celestial, incorrupt, glorious, powerful, and immortal body. This is the completeness that has been purchased for all of us in Christ.

The Lord views everything in the light of eternity. Man tends to view things in the context of his brief life on earth. From man’s perspective, a person who dies for his faith in Jesus has lost a great deal. From Jesus’ viewpoint, a martyr hasn’t lost a thing. Even the very hairs on our head are numbered.

The patience that Jesus is speaking of here is the calm assurance that God knows every hurt that we feel and He will abundantly recompense us in the resurrection. This knowledge enables us to control our emotions in the face of persecution (i.e. possess our souls) instead of letting our emotions of fear dominate us.

Topic: The Deciding Witness

In the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. – Matthew 18:16

You’ve been there many times, standing in the valley of decision. Perched precariously between victory and defeat. On one side of you is the word of the world authored by Satan that says, for example, “You’re not going to get healed.” On the other side of you, the Word of God is saying, “My Word is yea and amen” and “By whose stripes, ye were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). Who will determine how it all turns out? You will. You’re the establishing witness.

I remember a fellow once who wanted me to pray for him. I said, “Now the Word says you’re healed.” He interrupted me and said, “Yeah, I know it says that, but I’ve got this terrible pain here….”

I looked him in the eye and said again, “The Word says, ‘By His stripes, you were healed.’”

“I know it,” he answered, “but I’ve got this terrible….”

I shook my head. “Listen, the Word says you’re healed!”

He turned beet red. “I know it says that, but I’ve got this….”

Finally, he stopped and stared at me. He didn’t realize it, but he’d allowed his physical symptoms to become his evidence. It was what he believed. No matter what the Word said, he believed the thing he could see and feel.

But when he got quiet, I said to him, “Look, you’re wanting me to agree with you and you’re mad because I won’t. But if I agree with you, you’re going to die. Now if you’ll agree with me and the Bible, we can get you healed.”

Suddenly he saw it. His eyes lit up. “Oh, praise God! I see what you mean. I agree with the Word of God!”

I put my hands on his head and God healed him instantly.

You see, when he finally decided to get in agreement with God, he could have received in his bedroom or driving down the road or anywhere else. He could have received any time he decided to become the establishing witness.

You pray and establish your witness. That’s your part. If you’ll do it, God will back you—and when He backs you, everything else either has to get in line or get out of the way.

You’re the deciding witness. What do you say?

THE MYSTERY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT GIVING (TITHE ) PART ONE

THE MYSTERY OF THE NEW TESTAMENT GIVING (TITHE ) PART ONE

I was privileged to give this teaching last Sunday and I will love you to read with an open mind.
Firstly I want to point out that Jesus ran the wealthiest ministry without a church, pulpit, no synagogue without any one paying or asked for tithe. Infact he was paying tithe to the poor. Paul and other apostles had no account of asking anyone in the churches for tithe and yet they had all they needed.

In the new testament, it is not your tithe payment that opens your heaven, I want to affirm many hearts and those of the fold who are deceived. We have made an idol of tithe.

GOD’S PLAN
God gave Adam a mandate and ministry to dominate and multiply. He gave Adam one tool: the seed. God did ask Adam for tithe, he asked for seeds! A seed is a necessary representation of the edifice to you desire to see manifest. In other words, if the church needs house, my seed is a necessary raw material for the house project! I say here, that for many, their tithe is not a seed!

If God “eternal package” was in tithe, he should have sent 10% of His angels to redeem mankind. He instead sent a SEED. Your tithe is only useful in the new testament when it is a seed yo effect a progress you have in mind in the kingdom of God! Many people don’t have a vision for their tithe…No farmer throws a seed into the ground without a picture of desired growth and harvest. If your tithe is not done this way, it is like a farmer throwing seeds away, you are just being RELIGIOUS!!!

Please finish up and kindly share!

Open Heavens 3 October 2018 – Dangers of Bad Habits

Topic: Dangers of Bad Habits

Memorise: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”– Romans 12:2

Read: Mark 7:20-23 (KJV)

20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Bible in One Year: Isaiah 30-32, Luke 1:26-56

MESSAGE:
Bad habits may initially start as harmless actions or inactions that can be easily overlooked. Nevertheless, don’t be deceived, bad habits can ruin a person’s life and prevent him or her from achieving God’s plan and purpose over time. Bad habits don’t start suddenly; they become habits after an individual fails to stop them early enough. Over time, they grow into something big and difficult to control, having enough power to destroy the destiny of their victim. Is there a character flaw in you that people are beginning to complain about, or do you find yourself indulging in things that you know are inappropriate? Attack that character flaw now before it destroys you.

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus made it clear that a person is defiled by what comes from inside him or her, and that evil thoughts originates from within the heart. This is equally true for bad habits. Before a habit is formed, it starts as thoughts and suggestions that seem harmless. If a fellow chooses to accept these thoughts and suggestions, dwells on them and begins to cultivate them in his or her heart, they will soon begin to manifest outwardly in that person’s speech, actions and motives, if the fellow does not quickly notice the character flaw and take steps to change it, it becomes a habit that will end up defining him or her. For example, some people have the habit of going late to meetings. It usually starts with thoughts like “am sure this meeting won’t start at the time stated,” and before long, they will find themselves arriving late to every single meeting. For some people, it is the way they eat. When they are indoors, they say to themselves “let me eat the way I like; after all, nobody is watching me.” They then become accustomed to eating in an uncultured or unhealthy manner, and they end up embarrassing themselves when they eat like that in public. Habits, small as they may seem, can be very costly if not managed properly. As a young man, I once lost a chance for a commonwealth scholarship abroad because I had poor eating habits.

Lastly, many people look at children of God and make a conclusion about God from what they see in their lives. Don’t let your habit give God a bad reputation. Be careful what you do and how you do it. Most times, people don’t come and tell you about your bad habits, but they can see it all. This is why you need to watch yourself. Ask for the truth on bad habits you may have from someone close enough to be sincere and open with you. I pray that you will become so filled with the Holy Spirit that all your words and actions will be directed by Him alone in Jesus Name.

Action Point:
Find someone close to you who you know will be honest with you and ask him or her to tell you the bad habits they may have observed in you.

Wednesday Hymn 2: I Need Thee Every Hour
1. I Need Thee every hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, Oh, I need Thee,
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh bless me now, my Saviour;
I come to Thee.

2. I need Thee every hour;
Stay Thou near by;
Temptations lose their pow’r
When Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.

4. I need Thee every hour;
Teach me Thy will,
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfil.

5. I need Thee every hour,
Most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed,
Thou blessed Son.

Seeds of Destiny 3 October 2018 — The Confrontation Of Faith

Seeds of Destiny 3 October 2018 — The Confrontation Of Faith

Topic: The Confrontation of Faith

Scripture: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life… 1 Timothy 6:12a.

Thought For The Day: Anywhere faith is lacking, Christianity becomes a mockery.

Faith has been defined as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen according to Hebrews 11:1.

It is critical to know that the subject of faith cannot be over-emphasized because the journey of Christianity is called, ‘The walk of faith’ (2 Corinthians 5:7). Also, in Romans 1:17, the Scripture makes it clear that the life and survival of a Christian is dependent on his faith – Habakkuk. 2:4.

Thus, faithlessness is an invitation to calamity and casualty in life. Christianity without faith is Christianity without force. The truth is, anywhere faith is lacking, Christianity becomes a mockery.

From our anchor Scripture above, it is clear that for a Christian’s faith to survive, fight is required. Faith is not a feeling; faith is not wishful thinking; faith is a fight, faith is a confrontation. Every genuine faith must be confronted. For instance, the faith of Daniel, Joseph, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were all confronted because they believed or trusted in God. But every one of them overcame the confrontation of their faith. So, the decision to walk in faith should be accompanied by the readiness for confrontations in life; to walk in faith is to be ready for confrontations. But you are destined to overcome in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved, be determined to arm yourself with the mentality of warfare in order to maintain a vibrant faith in God. I prophesy unto you the grace to maintain a vibrant faith that is alive. Receive the power to confront and conquer every confrontation of your faith, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: Anywhere faith is lacking, Christianity becomes a mockery.

Assignments:
1. Fight to maintain your faith in God.
2. Refuse to be timid; confront every confrontation of your faith with brutal declarations and positive actions.

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for Your Word to me today. Grant me the grace to equip my faith with Your Word and the power to conquer every confrontation of my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
