Topic: How to Maintain a Strong Faith [Seeds of Destiny 12 September 2018 Daily Devotional]
Scripture: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Thought For The Day: Your character determines your confidence; your conduct determines your courage.
In our previous studies, we saw the importance of faith in the life of a Christian; we saw that to be successful in life, faith is non-negotiable. We also saw how faith works; we saw that faith works by celebrating faith confirmations and also by maintaining faith associations.
Today, it is very important to continue our studies on how to maintain a strong faith.
1. By Engaging the Holy Spirit
God has not given us the spirit of fear but of love, boldness and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The Holy Spirit is the sponsor of the audacity of faith. Praying in the Spirit is key to building your faith (Jude Verse 20).
2. By Maintaining Uprightness of Life
The wicked flee when no man pursues but the righteous are as bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1); your character determines your confidence, your conduct determines your courage. You have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide; integrity facilitates audacity, iniquity destroys audacity, and iniquity brings timidity.
3. By Refusing to put your Confidence in Man
If you want your faith to work, you must look away from man. The Bible says that they looked up to him and they were lightened, and their faces were not ashamed (Psalm 34:5). Jeremiah 17:5-7; makes us to understand that the one who looks unto man is cursed.
My counsel is, activate your faith by praying in the Holy Ghost, maintaining the life of righteousness and putting confidence in no man.
Remember this: Your character determines your confidence; your conduct determines your courage.
Assignments:
1. Make up your mind to activate a life of faith by praying in the Holy Ghost constantly.
2. Maintain an upright living and put confidence in no man.
Prayer: O LORD, I ask for the grace to pray in the Holy Ghost constantly and live an upright life. Help me not to put my confidence in man in order to develop a life of faith LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: Change the Image
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. – Romans 8:24-25
According to Romans, hope is actually looking at something you can’t see. How do you do that? You do it by looking at the promises of God in the Word until with your inner eyes—the eyes of your spirit—a picture is formed.
For example, one of the hardest things I ever had to do was face the fact that the inner image I had of myself physically was fat. It didn’t matter how hard I tried to change, it wouldn’t go away. I was always on a diet. I must have lost (and regained) hundreds of pounds over the years.
I finally had to admit that as long as my inner image of myself was fat, my outer self was going to match it. Remember, it’s faith that changes things, and without the inner image of hope, faith cannot work.
So I decided to fast for seven days. I searched my Bible for every scripture I could find on food and eating and I found many.
I meditated on every one of those scriptures and prayed in the spirit for seven full days. What was I doing? I was laying hold on a different inner image.
This is not something you can do overnight. It takes time. Especially if the inner image you’re changing has been there for years.
But you can do it. Go to the Word of God today and begin to change the images inside you. Change them from images of despair to images of hope. Get a blueprint in your heart and your faith will build on it!

Topic: Standing Tall
Text: Exodus 23:10-19 (KJV)
Key Verse: “And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth“ (Exodus 23:13).
MESSAGE:
After the children of Israel were miraculously brought out of Egypt by the awesome power of the Lord, they were divinely required to consecrate themselves as a special people unto Him. They were to be a holy generation and a peculiar people on earth. They were also to keep themselves holy and attend to divine commandments which were to guide them in their relationship with the Lord.
From the text, the Lord gave some elaborate instructions that must be observed as the norm. The people were to cultivate their lands, vineyards and oliveyards for themselves and eat of their produce for six years; but on the seventh, they were to leave them for the use of the poor and even the animals. They must be careful to be faithful to all the commandments of God. The Lord must be honoured and idolatry must never be associated with them.
Children of God are “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people” (1 Peter 2:9). They are carriers of the Lord’s light in a dark and perverse world and they are to show forth His praise in honouring Him in holiness, righteousness, worship and service.
As we walk with Him, He works in us and through us. Then, we become His vessels unto honour, a people prepared unto every good work. Our lives and services are acceptable unto Him only when we are fully obedient to His calling and faithful to His cause. The grace of God is always available to those who are truly committed to Him.
Thought For The Day: Precious vessels stand tall; they need no introduction.

Topic: Works Don’t Save
Mark 11:16 “And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.“
Only Mark points out that Jesus would not suffer anyone to carry any vessel through the temple. No explanation is offered by Mark as to why Jesus would not allow this. It is probable that Jesus wanted His Father’s house to be dedicated completely to prayer and the ministry of God. Also, as with the Sabbath, work symbolizes our own effort, and our own effort will always fall short of what God demands for salvation. Therefore, anything that resembled work was inappropriate in the house of God.
What are “works of the law?” Any rule, command or law that a person observes in an attempt to be accepted in right standing with God is a “work of the law.” In other words, “works of the law” are a righteousness produced by one’s self, a righteousness belonging to one’s self, offered to God as a means of meeting God’s standard for acceptance.
It takes a radical revelation of the gospel of grace to abandon faith in the works of the law. God’s standard of righteousness is the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD alone. God has designed salvation in such a way as to eliminate any boasting from man. If salvation was by works either partially or wholly, then man could boast. But grace and faith eliminate man’s boasting altogether. Faith towards God and what He has done through Christ Jesus is the only means of receiving His free gift of salvation. Salvation by grace brings praise and glory to God. If we could save ourselves, either partially or wholly, we would take the credit for it. But that is not the case. All the glory goes to God.

Topic: Be Meek—Be Happy [Billy Graham Daily Devotional 12 September 2018]
Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth. — Matthew 5:5
In His characteristic way Jesus was saying something quite shocking and revolutionary to His listener with these words, “Happy are the meek.” He was saying something quite the opposite of our modern concept of the way to happiness. We say, “Happy are the clever, for they shall inherit the admiration of their friends”; “Happy are the aggressive, for they shall inherit a career”; “Happy are the rich, for they shall inherit a world of friends and a house full of modern gadgets.” Jesus did not say, “Be meek and you shall inherit the earth.” He, more than anyone else, knew that meekness was a gift of God, a result of rebirth. Jesus was not issuing a command in this Beatitude nor saying, “You ought to be meek, that is the way to live.” No! He was saying that if we want to find the secret of happiness, that if we want to enjoy living, then “meekness” is a basic key.
Prayer for the day: May I truly reflect Your meekness in my life, Lord.
