Let him DO THE CHASE!

Let him DO THE CHASE!

My peeps and I were having girl talk awhile ago and someone shared about a person she knew who was madly, head over heels, going bananas in love with this guy, but he wasn’t making a move…..ooh ohh. So what should girl friend do? Did I hear you say go after the guy? Ask him out? Well, that’s what she did! She made the first move. Told the guy she was feeling him and all that and they got it going on. He would come to her room, spend time with her, she would cook for him and shower him with care and attention. Then, dude calls her one day and asks for a break up and a week after that, he’s seeing another girl. Should I tell you what was learnt from the snoop? Boy didn’t really like the girl, sure he found her attractive but he wasn’t really into her and that’s why he didn’t make a move but when “missy” couldn’t hold out any more, she ‘toasted’ him, [proposed to him] he was flattered and since he wasn’t hooked at that time, what could it hurt? So, he agreed, to buy time till he found the one he was looking for, and when he did, he bounced [gilted her]. That’s not all, the snoop also revealed from a reliable source that he said and I paraphrase, ‘I really do not appreciate a woman coming after me, if I want her, I want to do the chase’. This guy “fall my hand o”. Callous isn’t he?

Now, before we get all judgmental, I really wouldn’t blame the dude. I’m not saying he was right but I wouldn’t put it all on him, Missy should have listened to mama. Oh yeah. When mama said, go to school, read your books and become responsible and made, then boys would follow, mama knew what she was about. I’m not anti relationship in school, nah, that’s not what I mean; I’m up about the fact that it is a man’s GOD ordained position and calling to DO THE CHASE! You heard ladies! So, you think it’s cool to ask a guy out?

A man knows and wants what he wants! It is in a man’s nature to conquer. It gives him a helluva of satisfaction to run after something and get it; it’s like winning a lottery. He’s proud of himself and he cherishes his ‘loot’ like crazy, that’s why they don’t give up easily. Now, here you come wanting to suck the joy and accomplishment out of that. Even if a guy likes you and intends to ask you out and you go ahead to make the first move, sweetheart, he might act thrilled, tripped and all, but he ain’t really cool with it, trust me. If a guy really wants you, he would come after you. That he hasn’t right now even when all the signs that he loves you are there tells you he’s thinking ‘the investment’ over; he wants to be sure you would be the right move and a worthwhile chase and if he doesn’t come after you, he’s just not that into you honey, period.

I wish a lot of ladies would save themselves heartbreaks and heartaches by letting some certain things take the natural course, even the bible says ‘He that finds a wife…..’ That tells you, he does the finding; you just position yourself such that you would be found. Do what you gotta do to be found. A perfect example of this is Ruth in the bible. Now, we all have different analogies of this story, but I pondered on it and I realized that Ruth did not woo/chase Boaz, I don’t think she did. I think she merely positioned herself to be found. Now check, Mr Boaz was already checking Ruth out and doing things to make her know he could take care of her, but he didn’t make a move because he wasn’t in the right position to and wasn’t sure how it would be taken. Ruth wasn’t even thinking about Boaz in that way but smart and matchmaking mother Naomi saw prospects and awoke Ruth from her slumber and taught her how to POSITION herself. Naomi did not teach Ruth to ask Boaz out. So, when Ruth handled her business, Boaz did the right thing and married her honorably.

Ladies, all we gotta do is know how to handle our business. If that guy you are ‘dying’ for is not noticing you, perhaps it’s because you don’t have what he is looking for. Work on yourself, get a life! Get busy; add value to yourself and the people around you. Be filled with genuine love and spread it. Show him all the good qualities you got without being unnecessarily suggestive. Let this not be said at the end of it all, ‘I didn’t really want this, you forced the relationship’, yeah, I’ve heard that before. Let it be glaring, without reasonable doubt that he sought you out and asked for you, make him work for it baby, you’re too loaded to come across as cheap. Protect your respect and self esteem; save yourself from humiliation and heartbreak, like my friend’s friend should have done. Don’t give his friends something to laugh about. I’m not saying play hard to get, that’s not good, all I’m saying is, let him do the asking. If he wants you, he’ll come after you, shy or not. For real. If a guy is too shy to chase the woman of his dreams, then you probably should think twice about that guy sweetie, put that radar on big time, he’s probably like that with some other vital things. It’s ok to like a guy and position yourself to let him know you are available, but pleaseeeee, do not ask him out. Call me old fashioned or whatever, I’ve heard and seen enough to know that ‘the gospel according to ladies asking guys out’ just don’t pay! Ladies, just get busy doing your thing; sit pretty and let him work for it, let him DO THE CHASE!

P.s – This is just my honest opinion and isn’t necessarily ‘the standard’ it is subject to any counter argument. So, please, let me learn from you.

Topic: Keep your Children Alive!

Memorise: “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”- Exodus 20:12

Read: Proverbs 3:1-8 (KJV)

1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Bible in One Year: Lamentations 3-5, Luke 20:27-21:4

 MESSAGE:
It is very unfortunate that many parents are the architects of the untimely demise of their children; not because they are witches or sorcerers, but because they are ignorant of God’s word that keeps people, especially innocent children, alive. The word of God in today’s memory verse is food for thought in this regard. At the initial stage of a child’s life, he or she is ignorant of this scripture; it is therefore the duty of parents to teach them the way of the Lord established in the word of God. It however becomes a compound problem when parents themselves don’t know the way of the Lord. Parents should serve as the voice of God in their children’s lives. Godly parents will echo the words of the Lord in Proverbs 3:5-6, which says:

“5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

It is saddening to observe that instead of parents teaching their children to trust in the Lord their Maker, they rather teach them to trust in the knowledge derived from the education they spend fortune to acquire. Some parents even see their children as being wiser than them, simply because these children can relate better with modern gadgets and appliances. Although these appliances can be deployed to serve beneficial purposes, they often mislead and introduce children to emotional, psychological and even spiritual trauma when the use of such devices by these children is not monitored and controlled. Some people read about Eli and his children but don’t seem to learn from it (1 Samuel 2:11-4:18). Many parents are carefree when it comes to discipline, allowing their children to walk directly onto the path of destruction. The Lord was so grieved by the act of Eli’s children that He declared this frightening judgement on Eli’s household in 1 Samuel 3:12-14:

“12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. 13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. 14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.”

May your household never come under God’s judgement. Beloved, it is better not to bring children into this world than to bring them up without the fear of God. My prayer for you today is that your children will not fall prey to the devil’s destructive works in Jesus’ Name.

 Prayer Point:
Father, help me to nurture the children You have given me with the spiritual nourishment in Your word. Give them ears that hear You and a heart that obeys You in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: Who’s Driving?

Read: Romans 6:1–14

Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 51–52; Hebrews 9

Scripture: Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

Message: My neighbor Tim has a figurine on his dashboard of a “wild thing” based on Maurice Sendak’s beloved children’s book Where the Wild Things Are.

Not long ago Tim was following me through traffic and made some abrupt moves to keep up. When we arrived, I asked, “Was that the ‘wild thing’ driving?”

The following Sunday I forgot my sermon notes at home. I “flew” out of the church to retrieve them, passing Tim along the way. When we met later, he joked, “Was that the wild thing driving?” We laughed, but his point hit home—I should have paid attention to the speed limit.

When the Bible describes what it means to live in a relationship with God, it encourages us to “offer every part of [ourselves]” to Him (Romans 6:13). I took Tim’s response to me that day as a gentle reminder from God to yield my “lead foot,” because I am to give all of myself to Him out of love.

The question of “who’s driving?” applies to all of life. Do we let the “wild things” of our old sin nature drive us—like worry, fear, or self-will—or do we yield to God’s loving Spirit and the grace that helps us grow?

Giving in to God is good for us. Scripture says that God’s wisdom takes us down “pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace” (Proverbs 3:17). Better to follow where He leads.

Prayer: Loving Lord, thank You for the grace You give us to obey You, and the peace You give us as we stay near.

Though for the Day: What God requires He also inspires.

INSIGHT
Paul dismisses the notion that God’s grace permits us to do whatever we want. In fact, he finds the idea preposterous (Romans 6:2). God’s grace frees us to choose life in Him. That’s why Paul says, “Offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness” (v. 13).

Today, what do I need to offer to God?

Topic: The Influential Power of the Blessing

Scripture: And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth…Genesis 9:1-2

Thought For The Day: The Blessing of God makes a person a force to reckon with.

The Blessing of God is a depository of power and influence. That is why a blessed man or woman is man or woman of power and influence. For instance, wherever a prominent person is needed for consultation or support before a major decision is taken, it is a blessed person that fills the space.

The Blessing imparts the supernatural force that positions people for generational influence and impact. When God said to Adam, ‘…replenish the earth’ (Genesis 1:28), it means, ‘…influence and impact your world.’ When a person is blessed, he cannot be an onlooker in life because the Blessing of God makes one a force to reckon with.

Beloved, when the Blessing is on you, it makes you a generational influencer like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. If you are blessed, you cannot pass through this world and your generation claims ignorance of your existence, whatever be your profession or calling.

Now, I want you to take note of the following key thoughts on the Blessing:
1. The Blessing is necessary for existence as a generational space occupier.
2. The Blessing processes the blessed into a generational problem solver and solution provider.
3. The Blessing causes the blessed to exist as a difference maker (Genesis 30:27-30, Genesis 39:5).

Today, I declare that you shall influence and impact your generation for God, in Jesus’ Name. You are blessed!

Remember this: the Blessing of God makes a person a force to reckon with.

Assignments:
1. Make up mind to influence and impact your generation for God.
2. Develop the mentality of always providing solution and meeting needs; be an asset, not a liability to your generation.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your Blessing upon my life. Father, by this Blessing, make me a generational influencer for Your glory, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: The Fire We Need

Text: Acts 13:1-12 (KJV)

Key Verse: “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them“ (Acts 13:2).

MESSAGE:

The remedy for a church that would budge is FIRE – the Holy Ghost fire. Have you ever watched a little boy try to get a big old turtle to move? The more he coaxes it, the slower it goes. He then gets a stick and tries to club it. What does the turtle do? It just pulls its head, feet and tail inside its shell for a spell. It just sits there. The little boy gets one corner of the old turtle and props it up with a stick. Then runs to get some matches. He lights the match and holds it under the old turtle. Immediately, things will start happening. If you think a turtle can’t go fast, light up a match stick under Brother Turtle and watch him fly.

In the text, the Holy Ghost gave Barnabas and Saul a special mandate (Acts 13:2). So, they being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed for the assignment. At Paphos, they met a sorcerer, false prophet and Jew, who attempted to withstand them and the salvation of the deputy. Then Saul, filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, cast blindness on him. The deputy believed and was astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

The promised power of the Holy Ghost is given by God the Father to the believer who is thirsty. Christ told the disciples about the promise of the Father while He was with them. The point is, as a believer, there are certain revelations you will never receive and impartations you will never get until the Spirit of God comes into your life.

As a sanctified believer who wants to be extraordinary in the hands of the Almighty, you need the Spirit’s power and fire in your life. Desire, pray earnestly for it and watch it overwhelm you, like the disciples in Christ’s day. With this fire, you will truly begin to enjoy your relationship with God in the fullness of the Spirit.

Thought For The Day: Fire sets ablaze; get baptised in the Holy Ghost.
