KENNETH & GLORIA COPELAND DEVOTIONAL 5 OCTOBER 2018

TOPIC: SUBJECT TO CHANGE

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:18

Don’t center your attention on what you can see in this natural, physical sense realm. Everything you see is temporal and subject to change. So, put your faith in the unseen eternal realm. The things which are eternal are not subject to change.

God’s Word is eternal and it contains 7,000 promises to cover any circumstance you’ll ever face. And, no matter what happens in this shifting, changing world you live in, those promises will forever be the same.

No matter how bad your body feels, the Word will always say, “By His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). No matter how bad your bank book looks, the Word will always say, “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

Don’t settle for the meager existence the world says you can have. Lay hold of what the Word says you can have. Center your attention on the eternal truths of God and look not to the things which are seen. After all, they’re subject to change!

ANDREW WOMMACK DEVOTIONAL 5 OCTOBER – GET READY FOR JESUS

ANDREW WOMMACK DEVOTIONAL 5 OCTOBER – GET READY FOR JESUS

TOPIC: GET READY FOR JESUS

Matthew 24:38 “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,“

Text: Matthew 24:38-39

Jesus is prophesying that just as in Noah’s day, people will be dominated with the temporary affairs of this life instead of eternal spiritual truths, when Jesus returns. Before our Lord’s second return, there will be plenty of signs to show that the time is drawing near, but few will heed them. Preoccupation with the affairs of this life can dull us to the spiritual realm.

The Lord kindly but seriously, points out the urgent need to be ready for His return. In the same way that a thief comes when people are the least prepared, so our Lord will return in a time when people are not looking for Him.

This is not because our Lord desires to surprise everyone and see how many He can catch unprepared. On the contrary, He is urging us to be watchful so that we will be prepared. Jesus gave us the signs of the end times to help us be prepared. He is simply prophesying that there will be a condition of apathy in the latter days that will tend to lull even the faithful to sleep if they don’t take heed to His words.

Believers will not be assembled on a mountaintop somewhere waiting for the Lord’s return. They will still be going about their daily routines. The Lord told us to “occupy till I come” (Lk. 19:13). We should be ready for the Lord to come back at any moment, yet work as if His return was still far off.

Billy Graham Devotional 5 October 2018 — Suffering as a Christian

Topic: Suffering as a Christian

Blessed is the man whom [the Lord] chasteneth . . . — Psalm 94:12

God sometimes allows Christians to suffer, in order that they might learn the secret of obedience. The Psalmist said, “Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now have I kept thy word” (Psalm 119:67). It was not until after great sorrow and much affliction that David learned obedience to God.

My dear Christian friend, if you are today suffering at the hand of God and you have asked a thousand times, “Why?” I beg of you to be patient and quiet before God, and listen to the still, small voice. Bow under His loving hand and recognize that above the clouds the sun is shining. God has a purpose and design for your life, and what is happening to you is for your good.

Prayer for the day: The human in me says, “Why, Lord?” whenever I have to bear suffering—but the Spirit-filled me that was born again says, “I trust You, Father.”

Joyce Meyer Devotional 4 October 2018 — Expect a Turnaround

Topic: Expect a Turnaround

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day]. — Genesis 50:20 (AMP)

This verse is part of the story of how God promoted Joseph to a place of power after his brothers had sold him into slavery. It is a great testament to God’s desire and ability to overcome evil with good.

Joseph’s brothers meant to destroy him, but Joseph became second in command to Pharaoh and was used by God to save not only his own family but many thousands of others.

Sometimes you forget how big your God is. Whatever may have happened to you in the past, you must understand it doesn’t have to dictate your future. Set your faith and trust in God and watch to see how He will turn it around for your good. Rejoice! God has a good plan for your life.

Prayer Starter: Father, thank You that You are fair, even when life’s not fair. Help me to put the past behind me and trust You to work everything out for my good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Wisdom Pills for Singles! (Marriage Guide) Vol. 3

Wisdom Pills for Singles! (Marriage Guide) Vol. 3

This volume presents deeper insight into relationship issues: “One Flesh, Not One Bone”, “Naked But Not Ashamed,”” Don’t Be Naked”, “Now the Serpent!” These topics will surely open your eyes!

One Flesh, Not One Bone!

“… and they two shall become one flesh”! Remember Adam said, “this is the bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.” But in unity, they became one flesh and not one bone! What’s the implication of that? It simply means that even though you are one with your spouse, your bones are not fused together! You both still have different thoughts! Which is why there must be good communication in the home, your spouse can’t read your mind explicitly! Wrong assumptions ruin relationships! Don’t say he or she is supposed to know! You both need to communicate effectively! You are one flesh and not one bone! (Genesis 2:24)

Naked but Not Ashamed!

“and they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Of, course a man and his wife should not be ashamed to see their own nakedness! Otherwise, why are they married? But the kind of nakedness depicted here shows their level of simplicity and obedience to God. In marriage it depicts transparency! The husband and the wife must be opened to each other, no deceit, no secrecy! Remember this was the marriage Jesus while addressing the issues of divorce was referring to when he said, “in the beginning it was not so”! My dear Single, if you are not ready to be transparent to your spouse, then please remain Single! (Genesis 2:25)

Don’t Be Naked!

Though you were born naked… You don’t have to walk the street naked! Lots of young people today are parading the street in seductive attires all in the name of fashion or hunting for a spouse! Listen, the way you dressed, is the way you will be addressed! Adam and his wife were naked because they had no clothes! Besides, they were just two in the garden with the rest of the animals. Dress decently to cover your nakedness! Don’t post semi-nude pictures on social media! Don’t lose your self’s worth and dignity while trying to win the approval of others! A word is enough for the wise! (Still on Gen. 2: 25)

Now the Serpent (Part 1)

Adam and his wife were living happily in the garden until the Serpent (Satan) showed up! The woman yielded to the deceit of the devil, she disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit, her husband too was deceived, and they both fell into sin! Come to think of it; the Serpent never showed up in the garden until the woman was created! The devil didn’t get Adam until he got married! Satan is still in the business of attacking homes! The devil’s greatest weapon is DECEIT, he never forced the Woman, all he did was to start a conversation and offer suggestion! Unfortunately, the woman didn’t get God’s instructions right. It is not enough to listen to sermons! Study the BIBLE yourself and get it RIGHT …to be continued (Genesis 3)

Now the Serpent (Part 2)

See exactly what got the woman down in the garden: “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it”- Gen 3:6. Let me connect it with 1 John 2:16 to see the similarity. “For all that is in the world, the lust of the FLESH, and the lust of the EYES, and the PRIDE OF LIFE is not of the Father but is of the world.” The same formula the Devil used in the garden, He is still using till date, He tried the same formula with Jesus, but failed! Don’t allow the Devil to deceive you with the LUST OF THE FLESH, the LUST OF THE EYES & the PRIDE OF LIFE! Be wise!

God bless you!
