Open Heaven 7 October 2018 – The Best Time to Sow

Open Heaven 7 October 2018 – The Best Time to Sow

Topic: The Best Time to Sow

Memorise: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.”- Genesis 26:12

Read: Genesis 26:12-14 (KJV)

12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Bible in One Year: Isaiah 41-42, Luke 2:41-3:6

MESSAGE:
Any farmer who wants to reap a bountiful harvest knows that sowing is a specialised act. In other words, you don’t expect a great harvest when you sow at a time of your own choosing and in a haphazard manner. After soil preparation, sowing is often the next and most important step taken by a farmer in anticipation of harvest. The principles of sowing that govern the physical realm are also applicable in the spiritual realm Ecclesiastes 3:2 tells us that there is a right time, which also is the best time, for sowing. Good farmers know very well that the planting of crops is a major event, and its timing depends on the type of seed to be sown. Some factors that determine the right time to sow include the season or time of the year, sunshine and clouds, length of day and night, rainfall pattern and soil fertility. Sowing in the time of famine, being a time of drought, is a ridiculous thing to do, to say the least. Nevertheless, for Isaac in today’s Bible reading, it was the right time, and he experienced the miracle of a hundredfold harvest. His case is a classic example of doing the ridiculous to produce the miraculous. Just as it happened to Isaac, I pray that as you sow into God’s kingdom, you will experience returns in hundred fold in Jesus’ Name.

When is the best time to sow into God’s kingdom? The best time to sow is when you are born again and living in total obedience to the will of God. It is when the source of your livelihood is clean and your way of life is pure, such that you can lift up holy hands to God in adoration and worship (Psalm 24:3-5). It is when curses have been removed, devourers rebuked, cankerworms destroyed and contrary circumstances have been turned around to work in your favor. If for any reason you have missed it somehow and your life does not fit these descriptions, it is never too late with God. You can retrace your steps back home to God for a new beginning- a new beginning of peace, progress and bountiful harvest. Thankfully, it is still the season for sowing, and there is still time to sow righteousness and obedience now, before you face God’s law of harvest based on your deeds (Romans 2:6). It is yet a sunny day, the weather is favorable, and the timing is right. You can set your life on the right path by sowing righteousness, mercy and favor today. Invest into God’s kingdom today and reap a hundredfold in eternity. The best seed you can sow is the seed of your life. Invest your time, money and energy into soul winning activities today and watch as things will begin to work in your favor. If you are busy doing God’s business, He will also respond by going the extra mile to take care of your family and business.

 Prayer Point:
Father, please let my contribution to the expansion of Your kingdom produce hundredfold returns for me in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: Be Holy

MEMORY VERSE: “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;” – 1 Peter 1:15 (scroll down for RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL 7 OCTOBER 2018 HYMN)

BIBLE PASSAGE: Psalms 15:1-5

1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

INTRODUCTION:
The journey to holiness begins with a total submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. God is holy and cannot condone sin (Isaiah 59:2) because everything about Him is holy (1Peter 1:16). Hence, believers are commanded to live holy in order to be like God (Matthew 5:48). To fulfil this mandate, believers must understand the reasons for holy living and the benefits that accompany it.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. Why believers must be holy
2. Benefits of holiness

WHY BELIEVERS MUST BE HOLY
Our God is a holy God and He commands every believer to be perfect in His sight (Leviticus 20:26; Genesis 17:1; Ephesians 1:4). God desires to use believers as His chosen vessels to reach out to the numerous sinners out there, hence, believers must be holy (2 Timothy 2:21). Holiness is necessary for a believer to do exploits and do greater works (John 14:12). Sinners cannot fellowship with a holy God (1 John 1:3-7). The believer must be holy in order to be able to see God on the last day (Hebrews 12:14).

BENEFITS OF HOLINESS
A holy believer receives classified information from God (Genesis 18:17; Amos 3:7; Psalm 25:14). God builds a wall of protection around such a believer (Proverbs 18:10). He will also have peace with his enemies (Proverbs 16:7). He will enjoy divine blessings and long life (Deuteronomy 28:1-13; Proverbs 3:1-2; 4:10). Living holy enables every believer to enjoy God’s presence and to live forever with God in eternity (Psalm 24:3-5).

Other benefits include answered prayers (Luke 1:13; Psalm 34:15,17), secure future (Isaiah 3:10; Jeremiah 29:11), divine health (Exodus 15:26), supernatural prosperity (Psalm 92:12), victory (Deuteronomy 28:7), promotion and supernatural anointing (Hebrews 1:9).

CONCLUSION
Living holy must be the yearning of every true believer (Matthew 5:6). Always strive to live holy.

QUESTIONS
1. Why should believer be holy?
2. Mention some benefits of holiness.

Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?

DCLM Daily Manna 7 October 2018 – The Sanctity of Marriage

Topic: The Sanctity of Marriage

Text: Genesis 24:2-67 (KJV)

Key Verse “And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death…” (Genesis 24:67).

MESSAGE:

The arrival of Rebekah as a wife to Isaac was a wonderful gift from God after three years of loneliness due to the death of his mother, Sarah.

Abraham’s chief servant, Eliezar had gone on a long journey to Mesopotamia to seek a wife for his master’s son, Isaac. Abraham had instructed him under oath to go to his family house to get a wife for his son. Eliezer obeyed and went. Helped by God after a brief prayer, he was able to come back with Rebekah as Isaac’s bride. Isaac was returning from the field where he had gone for meditation when he sighted the coming camels and hoped his wife would be in that approaching company. He was right. On enquiry, Rebekah had been told it was Isaac she had just sighted and had to cover herself with a veil as was the custom for new brides.

God instituted marriage as a holy union between a man and a woman. One man, one woman. The purposes are for procreation, partnership, fellowship and pleasure. For the godly Church, the marriage institution is a type of the union between Christ and His Bride, the Church. It is a sacred union. Similarly Christian marriage remains the bedrock of a healthy society.

Unfortunately, in some countries today, this sacred institution has been desecrated. They practice sinful acts like same-sex marriages. But God’s truth and warnings remain unchanging in the face of man’s waywardness. Knowing that life is not only about man’s brief stay on earth, it is only foolish for anyone to sell himself to the dictates of the devil to the detriment of his eternal well-being. “Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the street” (Proverbs 1:20). We must hear the voice of wisdom and live a godly life as it pleases the Lord.

Thought For The Day: Marriage is honourable in all and the bed undefiled.

TOPIC: Connecting With Fresh Mantle

SCRIPTURE: And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof…He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan. 2 Kings 2:12-13

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your connection determines your collection; your heart for the mantle determines your part in the mantle.

MESSAGE: Mantles are sacred graces of God upon those who are called by God as validation of His calling on their lives. For example, Prophets, evangelists, pastors or priests carry the mantles of their callings as a symbol of power and authority.

It is confirmed from our anchor Scripture that mantles are transferable. The transference of mantles from a higher vessel to a lower vessel by the instrumentality of the Holy Spirit without reduction or diminishing in quantity, capacity and intensity of the former is a possibility. And that process is called impartation.

When you connect to a carrier of the mantle of God appropriately and passionately, the mantle can drop on you.

The truth is, your connection determines your collection; your heart for the mantle determines your part in the mantle.

Seeds of Destiny 7 October 2018 – Connecting With Fresh Mantle by Dr. Paul Enenche

Beloved, in order not to exist as a victim in a time such as this, you need the mantle; in order to escape defeat in life’s battles, the mantle is an indispensable necessity. You need the mantle to tackle the battles around your life. You need the mantle to mesmerize whatever is threatening to mess up your destiny.

Beloved, receive the impartation of the mantle of God on my life and upon the Dunamis Commission. That mantle shall begin to answer for you, in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Your connection determines your collection; your heart for the mantle determines your part in the mantle.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Increase your level of value for the mantle carrier in order for the mantle to profit you.
2. Desperately desire and connect the mantle that you need at the place of prayer.

Seeds of Destiny 7 October 2018 – Connecting With Fresh Mantle by Dr. Paul Enenche

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: FRESH MANTLE THROUGH PRAYER.

PRAYER: O Lord, help me to connect appropriately with the mantle on my spiritual father. I receive the grace to intensify my value for the mantle, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
