Topic: Jesus In The Flesh

John 14:28 “Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.“

Text: John 14:28

Jesus stated His union with the Father so clearly that He was accused of blasphemy more than once. This statement about the Father being greater than Jesus must harmonize, not contradict other claims.

A key to understanding this is given in Philippians 2:6-8, where Paul states that Jesus didn’t think it was robbery to be equal with God, but humbled Himself, taking on the form of a servant (speaking of His humanity). Jesus was equal to God in His divine nature but He made Himself inferior to the Father in regard to His humanity. Jesus didn’t lose any of His deity when He became a man, but He did clothe it in flesh and submit it to the consequent limitations. In this sense, the Father was greater than Jesus.

Jesus is the pre-existent God who chose to become a man so he could redeem us by His own blood sacrifice. When He became a man, He was still one hundred percent God in His spirit, but His physical body was one hundred percent human. His body was sinless, but it was still flesh and subject to the natural things we all experience. The physical Jesus had to grow in wisdom and in stature.

When Jesus was born, His physical mind did not know all things. He had to be taught how to talk, walk, eat, and so forth. He had to learn that He was God in the flesh and accept that by faith. His physical mind grew in awareness of who He was. He had the witness in His spirit, but His physical mind had to “take it by faith”-the same way that we do when we believe who we are in the spiritual realm. Jesus’ mental comprehension of His deity was something He learned and accepted by faith. Jesus had to become aware of His true identity through revelation and knowledge. We must do the same.

BILLY GRAHAM DEVOTIONAL 23 OCTOBER 2018 – WHERE IS HEAVEN?
Topic: Where Is Heaven?

I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me.— Luke 22:29

Many people have asked, “Where is heaven?” We are not told in the Scripture where heaven is. Some students have tried to take some Scriptures and put them together and say that heaven is in the north. They quote Psalm 48:2, “The joy of the whole earth is . . . on the sides of the north . . . ” The magnetic needle points north. Perhaps the Celestial City is in the north. We do not know. But no matter where heaven is, it will be where Christ is.

Many people ask, “Do you believe that heaven is a literal place?” Yes! Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you.” The Bible teaches that Enoch and Elijah ascended in a literal body to a literal place that is just as real as Los Angeles, London, or Algiers! The Bible also teaches that heaven will be a place of beauty. It is described in the Bible as “a building of God”-“a city”-“a better country”-“an inheritance”-“a glory.”

The Bible also indicates that heaven will be a place of great understanding and knowledge of things that we never learned down here.

Prayer for the day: Living Lord Jesus, the knowledge that You have prepared a place for me in heaven brings comfort and delight to my soul!

Topic: Humbly Leaning on the Lord

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Humility is knowing we cannot succeed by trusting in ourselves and our own human effort. Instead, we trust in God, thankful that He does what we cannot.

As we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and lean on Him at all times, He always equips us to do what we should be doing. Most human failure comes from people trying to do things in their own strength without relying on God.

I have found that when I feel frustrated, it is because I am exerting fleshly effort trying to do something that only God can do. I suggest that when you feel frustrated that you stop and ask yourself if you are doing the same thing.

Works of the flesh equal frustration, and works of the flesh mean that I am working without God.

We can live the joyful, overcoming life God has for us when we realize God helps those who know they cannot help themselves—those who realize they are totally dependent on Him and are grateful that He will provide everything they need.

Prayer Starter: Father, I am thankful that I do not have to depend on my own strength or best effort to get through life. Thank You that You are here to guide me and help me each day. I trust You and I place my life in Your hands. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Receiving Divine Healing By Pastor Paul Enenche

Receiving Divine Healing By Pastor Paul Enenche

IMPARTATION SERVICE – 21ST OCTOBER 2018
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): JAMES 5:13-16
MESSAGE TOPIC: RECEIVING DIVINE HEALING

SERVICE OBJECTIVE: Understanding how to receive Divine Healing or be restored back to health

Divine healing is available as a provision of God for His people (Jer. 30:17; 3John 1:2; Ex. 15:26; Ps. 103:1-3; Isa. 30:26)

The best way to live is living in Divine health

WHERE HEALTH IS CHALLENGED, WHAT DO YOU DO TO BE RESTORED?

1. Receiving the sent Word (Ps. 107:20; Luke 5:15; 6:17)

LEVELS OF WORD TO CONNECT WITH FOR HEALING:

1a. Connecting the written Word in the area of health and healing

1b. Listening to healing Scriptures

1c. Listening to the preached Word on the subjects of faith, Divine healing and Divine health

i. The Word of God is pregnant with healing virtue (Prov. 4:20-22)

ii. The Word of God imparts faith and faith makes whole (Rom. 10:8, 17; Matt. 9:22)

iii. The Word of God transmits the life of God (John 6:63)

2. Speaking to the mountain (Mark 11:23-24; Joel 3:10; Num. 14:28)

WHAT SPEAKING TO THE MOUNTAIN IN THE NAME OF THE LORD REFERS TO:

2a. Speaking to the challenge, problem or affliction in the name of the Lord and ordering according to desired expectation (Mk. 11:23)

2b. Rebuking the spirit or the root of the challenge or affliction in the Name of the Lord (Luke 4:38-39)

IMPACT OF SPEAKING TO THE MOUNTAIN IN THE NAME OF THE LORD:

i. The earth is wired to respond to the Word of the Lord (Jer. 22:29)

ii. The powers of the enemy have been programmed to submit to the authority of God’s Word and the Name of Jesus (Phil. 2:9-11)

3. Receiving the prayer of faith (Jam. 5:14-15; Matt. 18:19-20)

WHAT THE PRAYER OF FAITH REFERS TO:

3a. The prayer of faith is prayer that is offered on the behalf of others on the basis of conviction and confidence in both God and His Word (Jam. 5:15)

3b. The prayer of faith is the prayer that is offered in the unity or agreement of conviction by the brethren on any issue (Matt. 18:19-20)

IMPACT OF THE PRAYER OF FAITH:

i. Faith is the switch of power; God’s power is switched into operation when faith is at work (Heb. 11:6; Mark 5:30-34)

ii. God honours the agreement of faith with answers; He responds to the agreement of faith with results (Matt. 18:19-20)

4. Connecting the power of the Oil (Mark 6:12-13; James 5:14-15)

HOW THE POWER OF THE OIL IS ADMINISTERED:

4a. Through the agency of higher spiritual authority (James 5:14)

4b. By self-administration (Prov. 6:5)

IMPACT OF THE OIL:

i. The anointing oil is God’s healing balm that directly communicates healing virtue (Luke 10:33- 34)

ii. The anointing oil transmits the Spirit of God and the Spirit of God is creative in power (1Sam. 16:13; Gen. 1:1-2)

iii. The anointing oil transmits the yoke-destroying, burden-removing power of God (Isa. 10:27)

5. Connecting the power of the Communion (John 6:55-57; Exo. 12:11-13; 1Cor. 5:7; Ps. 105:37)

HOW TO ADMINISTER THE COMMUNION:

5a. Through congregational administration (1Cor. 10:16)

5b. Through personal administration (1 Cor. 11:26)

IMPACT OF THE COMMUNION:

i. The communion communicates the Passover mystery (Exo. 12:11-13)

ii. The communion transmits into us the very sick-less life of God (John 6:55-56)

iii. The communion grants victory over the enemy and his forces (Rev. 12:11)

6. Receiving the Ministry of healing (1Cor. 12:9)

HOW TO CONNECT AND RECEIVE THE GIFT AND MINISTRY OF HEALING:

6a. By being in the vicinity of the manifestation of that gift and healing (Acts 5:14-16)

6b. By connecting points of contact from the lives of carriers of that gift (Acts 19:11-12)

HOW THE MINISTRY OF HEALING WORKS:

i. The healing gift and ministry creates an atmosphere or climate of healing where those who come into the proximity of that climate receive their healing effortlessly (Luke 6:19)

ii. The healing gift or ministry is the release of God’s mercy on the afflicted far beyond their faith or qualification for it (Mic. 7:18)

REQUIREMENTS FOR RECEIVING DIVINE HEALING:

1. Sins must be forgiven (Ps. 103:1-3; Ps. 119:67; 107:17; Jam. 5:16; Mark 2:3-5)
You cannot be praying for healing on top of unconfessed sin and be taken seriously
Guilt is the enemy of both health and faith

2. Forgiveness must be released (Jam. 5:16; Mark 11:25)
Forgiveness does not mean that you become the friend of everybody
Until forgiveness is released, healing is not received
Bitterness is a sustainer of sickness

3. Fear must be refused (Job 3:25; 1John 4:18)
The fear of death or disease attracts the death and disease you fear
Fear cannot co-exist with faith or with healing

4. Vision must be in place (Gen. 13:14-15; Prov. 29:18; Jer. 1:11-12; Prov. 23:7)
If you can’t see your future, you don’t have a future!
If you can’t see your future, you don’t have a future!
The tomorrow you cannot see does not exist
If you can see the ultimate, you will survive the immediate; no devil can kill you in today if you can see tomorrow!
When you can see the future, you can seize the future
If you have no reason to live, you die like a chicken but a reason for living keeps you alive

Open Heaven 22 October 2018 – Antidote to Temptation

Open Heaven 22 October 2018 – Antidote to Temptation

Topic: Antidote to Temptation

Memorise: “Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.”– Luke 12:37

Read: Matthew 13:24-26 (KJV)

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 14-15, Luke 9:28-50

 MESSAGE:
Temptation is the pressure to yield to influences that can lead a person away from God and into sin. It is also the means by which the loyalty, commitment and obedience of a child of God is tested and proved. Temptation is a part of life that no one can escape from, because nobody is protected or exempted from its influence. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself experienced temptation (Hebrew 4:15). The one who orchestrates temptation, also known as tempter, is the devil (Matthew 4:3). He has perfected highly deceptive means of carrying out his evil enterprise, because he has been long at it. However, glory be to God because the Lord has developed a way of escape for every type of temptation the devil can come up with (1 Corinthians 10:13). If we refuse to use the means of escape provided by God, we will end up falling for the devil’s tricks and disobeying God. This can have devastating repercussions, as seen in the fall of mankind through temptation and the judgment of God which followed (Genesis 3:1-24). It is therefore important for us to learn how to overcome temptation and also reduce our exposure to it by applying the antidote provided by the Lord.

In the last few hours before our Lord Jesus Christ was arrested, knowing what was about to happen shortly, He gave the disciples the antidote to temptation, saying in Matthew 26:41:

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

In this verse of scripture, He named watchfulness and prayer as the antidote to temptation. Watchfulness is the state of being alert and expectant while carefully observing a person or situation. The word of God lays particular emphasis on the need to keep watch for two important events: the second coming of our Lord and the devil’s temptation, which is our focus today. We are called to be alert to the dangers posed to our Christian life by false teachings, worldliness, love for money, inordinate ambition, sinful pleasure, sexual immorality, and all other forms of temptation. Your watchfulness should begin with the admonition of Proverbs 4:23, which says:

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Romans 12:2 also speaks about renewing your mind, and this is best done by filling your heart with the undiluted word of God. Another aspect of watching is bridling our tongue in order not to sin with it (1 Peter 3:10, James 1:26). For your faith not to suffer shipwreck due to temptation, you are called by God to soberly watch and be prayerful (1 Peter 4:7). Are you keeping watch?

Prayer Point:
Father, please don’t allow any temptation derail my Christian journey in Jesus’ Name.

Monday Hymn 18: Conqueror and Overcomers Now Are We
1. Conquerors and overcomers now are we,
Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we’ve victory
If the Lord be for us we can never fail,
Nothing ‘gainst His mighty power can e’er prevail.

Chorus
Conquerors are we, thr’o the blood of Jesus
God will give us victory, thro’ the blood of Jesus
Through the Lamb for sinners slain,
Yet who lives and reigns again,
More than conquerors are we,
More than conquerors are we.

2. In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press,
Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;
Not to us but unto Him the praise shall be,
For salvation and for blood bought victory.

3. Unto Him that overcometh shall be given,
Here to eat of hidden manna sent from Heaven,
Over yonder He the victors palm shall bear,
And a robe of white, and golden crown shall wear.
